Your challenge this month is simple: Draw your OWN character in a fairytale, children's storybook, or fantasy setting!
This is a NEW TYPE OF CHALLENGE, so here are the "rules":

Create a NEW topic with the Subject "<yourname's> April Storybook WIP Thread"

Start sketching, drawing, dolling, 3D-ing, creating your masterpiece! (ALL ART MEDIUMS WELCOME!!!)

Post your WIP images for comments, feedback, discussion, C/C, etc all through the month

Post your FINISHED artwork (due midnight EST the last day of the month) in the thread titled "FINISHED ART: April WIP Challenge"

Feel free to create a backstory or even a full story too if you choose!

NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN ART *EXCHANGE*!!
This is the first of what we plan to make "monthly open WIP challenges". Anyone is welcome to join at any time during the month. All finished pieces are "due" by midnight on the last day of the month. Although there is a sign up thread, you are creating this artwork for, quite simply, YOU! Smile

To challenge yourself, push your skills, feed your creativity! No pressure or guilt if it's not finished, but you should make EVERY effort to finish if you sign up!

Welcome to the Daily Sketch Thread! Very Happy

Whats the Daily Sketch all about? Well! Each Day I will post a new idea and we, well sketch it! The ideas will vary, some will be about MMORPGs, or environments, or a general theme, or concept art of all kinds!

I truly believe that if every artist can sketch one thing every day, or as many days as possible, that that is the BEST path to 'uberness'. While finishing a piece definitely helps you learn more about your medium, and about color and depth, sketches have you practice quick color, quick anatomy, and quick thoughts!

So whats quick? Well, you can spend as much time as you want! But in general, I am suggesting only 30 mins per sketch!

Do you HAVE to do todays theme if you like yesterdays better? Of course not! Feel free to pick from previous ideas, or just post what YOU sketched today. All this is really about is sketches, concept art, a dash of color and some loving feedback.

All I ask is you post with each sketch:

You can use any program, media, color or not! Want to just sketch with pencils? Thats great! How about trying a digital black and white (or colored lines) sketch? Wonderful! Want to quick paint with color too? Fantastic! Its all up to you!
